Chanel foundation review: perfection lumiere

The new chanel foundation,
perfection lumiere: oil free, 15 hour wear, SPF 10, and will deliver a luminous semi-matt finish whether you have dry, oily or combination skin!

sounds too good to be true?

however, for £36 i would expect this to be perfect!!

i went in to my nearest debenhams store and asked to be matched with this foundation, the woman matched me with 'beige rose'

The website claims  it It is a  'light, fluid texture glides on seamlessly with adjustable yet lightweight coverage for perfect results'
which in some respect is true as the foundation did glide on my skin, although i did have to apply a lot to get a full coverage, whereas my usual foundation estee lauder double wear lasts me ages as i only need to apply a tiny bit.

This is me wearing the foundation one hour after applying it, to be honest it hadn't budged and my skin did still look flawless, despite my spotty chin (ewww!)

overall the foundation is a nice light coverage, suitable for those who hardly wear make up and those who like a light weight feel.
for me it would be ok during the day time, but deffinetly not thick enough for night's out!!
i think i will be sticking to double wear!! as it is £11 cheaper and is thicker for my skin.

advantages of perfection lumiere:
lasts all day
light weight on skin
did not need much powder to set

disadvantages:
the cost
the large amount needed for full coverage
slight chemical fragerance

verdict:
not for me! i don't think i will be investing in this product as i am quite heavily addicted to heavy make up, AKA: double wear

has anybody else tried this? what did you think?

naughty purchases ;)

bonjour bloggers!

happy Sunday! the best day of the week (for me) usually i spend my Sundays with my girls and hubby, either going for a walk in our beautiful surrounding of the lake district, swimming  and seeing family.

But today i have been doing the dreaded dissertation, which any fellow uni goers will understand what a pain in the backside it is!!!

However, on a brighter note here are my very scrumptious weekend purchases :)

apologies for the crappy photo's, this is due to using my useless blackberry

Topshop have such a fab sale on at the moment i just couldn't resist, although the only sale item i bought was this silk camisole top, which from £32 down to £10 was an absolute bargain

another topshop buy: this black logo top £20 in the new stock, it has a back drop and is wearable as a dress or can be tucked in as a top :)

The beloved Naked palette 2, ahhhh i lovelovelove it, it cam on sale on debenhams last week for only £36 and freeeeee delivery :) good times

the only downside so far is that it isn't as pigmented as i thought it would be, and for the price as well i was expecting to only have to sweep it on, but i did have to dig my brush in a little. I will do a review within the next week though :)

i ordered this little beauty of HQhair.com and for the hefty £22, NARS highlighter in albatros, it is only a larl package, but the contents is fabulous

sorry about the flash, don't know how to turn it off :s
the only downside so far is that it can look quite yellow in certain light, but you only need a little sweep to make your cheekbone pop!!

i also bought this dress, but have decided to take it back as it claimed on line it was a 'midi' dress but on larl 5'2 me it's more of a maxi dress and i look rather like Betty Lynch in it, but the dress is amazing just not on me!
and for £28 it's a bargain!!!

(the pic is so small because it wouldn't let me copy and paste it off the website, so i had to copy the link)

well, that's my little weekend splurge, what exciting things did you buy this weekend?

IWILLBESKINNY

so january is nearly over...
have you kept to your new years resolutions?

i know i havn't!

i vowed that this year i would
1. stop eating so much chocolate
2. spend more time on uni work and less time procratinating
3. to start writing things down.... so i don't forget things all the time!!

so far, i have eaten my own body weight in chocolate, created this blog instead of uni work and not written anything down!

one thing that i am usually really good at all year is exercise 8)

i know...your thinking 'bitch' where does she get her motivation from,

but for me exercise is my stress release.

I havn't always been an exercise freak though.... i have actually lost 2 and a half stone in a year :)

this was me before.....(the one on the right) 10 1/2 stone

And this is me now......

excuse the cheesy pic :)

I am finally at the point in my life where i am happy with my body,
the only downsize to loosing all that weight was the boob loss :(

This is how i lost weight in a year ( and maintained it!):

DIET: basically i just cut out the crap! the chocolate, crisps, mcdonalds..
it wasn't easy but as soon as i started noticing that i was loosing weight i became more motivated to keep up the healthy eating

i ate three whoelsome meals a day!
breakfast: kellogs red berrys
lunch: kellogs red berrys/ heinz soup/ various salads
tea: i would eat what ever tea i wanted.. for example: spagetti bolognase (yes, pasta!) and even pizza sometimes.

The one thing i didn't do was starve myself, i just made sure i ate healthy and sensibly.

but none of this will work unless you exercise!!!

my weekly exercise routine (give or take):

monday: run home from brownies (yes i am a brownie leader) 15 min run
tues: nothing
wed: Zumba... it really is the best thing!!

thurs: go on the wii, anything from snowboarding to running
fri: spinning, it's not for everyone but i love it!
sat: treat night!
sun: 1 hour run (4-5 miles)

hope you enjoyed my post :)

INSPIRE ME!

There are some beautiful stylish women out there, and many of them inspire me with the style i tend to go for!

first of all i LOVE anything vintage and pin up style and this woman is an absolute style ICON, what i would do for a hot body like that!  And for SJP, she has one of the most unique styles..

and then Vivienne Westwood, wow... each line of clothing she does is fabulous, my all time fave designer by far!!!

and this is just some of my recent outfits :)

I am the blonde in the middle:
play suit: primark
earrings: Topshop

Dress: Topshop
earrings: Topshop
shoes: Steve Madden

Same as below, dress and earrings from Topshop and shoes from Steve Madden

Top and leather leggings: Topshop
shoe boots: Newlook
red lipstick: MAC in Russian red
watch: Chanel

i hope you enjoyed my little insight into my fashion idols and a taste of my own style, this was really just to get me used to blogging... but i am sure i'll become addicted in no time ;)

hello....this is me :)

right, so this is my blog... i have never had a go at making one of these before, although i love looking at other blogs and thought that i might as well give it a go!

creating this thing was very confusing as i am not exactly a computer mastermind...but first things first, i suppose i best introduce myself.

The name is Rebecca and i live in a little town in Cumbria called Ulverston, where i live isn't the most exciting place in the world but it is where all my family are situated and having the countryside on my doorstep is also a bonus!

This is me (the blonde) and my amazing best friend Sophie

I am actually married with two children, this is me and the hubby!

he is stunning right!!??

:)

My two little girls are the cutest most beautiful creatures on the planet, although i do not think it is appropriate for me to post a picture of them on a site that is available to all.. but i can assure you they are amazing.

i have created this blog to share my love for all things materialistic with other bloggers!
i am always on the hunt for new and exciting purchases.  i often find myself mostly in charity shops as i have bought some FAB things in the past from them, mainly jewelry as most of it kicks TOPSHOP jewelry's ass!
although i do buy most of my clothes from TOPSHOP :)

anyway enough for now.. i will hopefully be sharing my love for fashion with any other bloggers who are willing to read my rants :)

toodles
